《英國皇家學會學報-B副刊（生物科學）》（Proceedings of the Royal Society B）1月31日報導，科學家訓練殺人鯨（虎鯨）說英語，鯨魚也確實能學會，雖然音質不清晰，但是語調掌握得很好。

YouTube公布的一段相關聲頻中，可以明顯聽出鯨魚學得有模有樣。

智利宗鐸大學（Pontifical Catholic University）的科學家用英語對一頭名叫維奇（Wikie）的14歲虎鯨說：「哈囉。」（英語之中是「你好」的意思。）

維奇模仿道：「阿嘍。」

科學家說：「一、二、三。」英文之中的這三個詞發音差別較大，尤其是「三」（three）的發音較難。

但是虎鯨維奇照樣能把握住三個音的特點，也發出類似英文一、二、三的聲音。

而且，維奇對語調掌握得很準。
